Logic in Edmonton

Kit Fine will be speaking here at the University of Alberta on 3rd November. The title is "Class and Membership."

I doubt it's a political philosophy talk though.

Fine gave a talk at Arche back in June on some insanely strong set theory he's developing (from what I remember he was also originally scheduled to give the same talk at this minisymposium at Calgary, though he's now got a different topic). If it's the same talk, it's characteristically entertaining and technically impressive, though it's hard not to worry about the philosophical side of the program (Carrie Jenkins posts some worries here: http://longwordsbotherme.blogspot.com/2005/08/ecap.html)

Of course, I could be wrong - it could be on political philosophy after all.

I didn't even think those words sounded political until I thought about it for a minute or so after you made the joke!
